Hi Everyone, I just found out my sister is planning on adopting a dog in the near future. --- What dog do you think would be best for her family?--- They want a small dog not to small or big. They have 2 girls-7 + 9 yrs old. It doesn't have to be a purebred. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks,

Hi, Sunset. I think it's important to consider the breed of dog before you make a decision. If the dog is not a pure breed than you have to consider more than one breed. My Mastiff-low energy level and nice easy walk and he's pooped. Lot's of socializtion and training classes. He has a natural guardian instinct and it's my job to make sure he is a well behaved dog.
My Boxer-high energy level needs to be exercised. Has a guardian instinct as well but is a very social dog and loves people and kids. If the kids are in the yard she will bark as Diesel will just sit and stare. No one will be entering the yard. There is a rescue group for every breed. If you just google the name of breed and rescue it should come up. Good luck to your sister.
